Shannon Buerk is a Senior Strategist with Cambridge Strategic Services. Shannon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Texas teaching credential in Secondary English from Schreiner University graduating Summa Cum Laude. She later completed her Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Portland State University while serving as a graduate assistant and assistant director of the School/University Partnership Development Network.
Shannon has over 15 years experience as an educator including teaching public and private high school and community college, and serving as a curriculum director, an Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, and an Associate Superintendent for School Improvement. During her time as an administrator, she led many initiatives including the districtwide implementation of professional learning communities, the creation of a choice high school and a successful high school restructuring effort utilizing the strategic planning process.
As an education consultant, she has worked in more than 35 districts in several states, hundreds of campuses, and numerous regional service centers to facilitate curriculum alignment, professional learning communities, the strategic planning process, leadership retreats and other effective school improvement efforts.
Shannon has made presentations to over 25,000 educators at the campus, district, regional, state, and national levels including a wide variety of conferences. She currently serves on the board of the Texas Staff Development Council and the North Central Texas Association for Supervision of Curriculum Development.
